FTSE 100 Rises for 8th Session

The FTSE 100 traded higher at record levels on Wednesday, extending its winning streak to eight sessions, driven by gains in miners and upbeat corporate updates. GSK climbed over 4% after reporting stronger-than-expected Q3 profit and revenue, while raising its full-year forecasts for earnings, turnover, and operating profit. The company now expects core EPS growth of 10–12%, up from 6–8%. Retailer Next also jumped more than 5% after upgrading its outlook once again, continuing its track record of consistent guidance improvements. Meanwhile, copper miners rose amid optimism about easing US-China trade tensions and tightening global supply. President Trump and President Xi are expected to meet at the APEC summit this week to discuss potential trade progress. Antofagasta, Anglo American, and Rio Tinto each gained over 2%, while Glencore surged more than 6% after reaffirming its 2025 production targets and solid metals trading performance.
