Ripple Prime opens 100+ RWA perp markets on Hyperliquid as HYPE rebounds

  • HYPE rebounded near $82 after a slight dip to $77 as hotter-than-expected US inflation pressured crypto markets.
  • Ripple Prime introduced institutional access to over 100 RWA perpetual swap markets through contracts listed on Hyperliquid.
  • HYPE faces resistance at the 50-day EMA.

Hyperliquid (HYPE) rebounded toward $82 on Thursday after an earlier drop to $77 on hotter-than-expected US inflation. Ripple Prime now offers institutions more than 100 RWA perpetual swap markets on Hyperliquid.

HYPE holds above $80 despite inflation pressure

HYPE dropped below $80 after US producer price index (PPI) inflation rose 6.3% year-over-year in September, exceeding expectations of 5.3%. The hotter reading raised concerns about the Federal Reserve’s interest rate outlook and weighed on risk-sensitive assets.

Following the hot inflation reading, HYPE-specific leveraged long positions shed $7 million in liquidations, compared with approximately $810,000 in short positions, according to Coinglass data.

HYPE subsequently rebounded near $82, recovering from an intraday low of roughly $77.59.

Ripple Prime introduces institutional RWA perpetual swaps

Prior to the inflation data release, Ripple announced on Thursday that its prime brokerage platform, Ripple Prime, had launched support for RWA perpetual swaps across more than 100 reference markets.

The offering covers equities, equity indices, exchange-traded funds, metals, energy and foreign exchange, with trading and settlement available 24 hours a day, including weekends.

The swaps reference perpetual futures contracts listed by Trade.xyz on Hyperliquid. Ripple Prime acts as the principal in these transactions, allowing institutional clients to access the products through its brokerage services rather than trading directly on Hyperliquid.

The service also supports cross-margining across eligible asset classes, allowing clients to manage collateral and risk across multiple positions. Clients can use Ripple USD (RLUSD) as collateral, while market maker Virtu is among the institutions already using the offering.

The launch expands institutional access to derivatives linked to traditional financial markets through Hyperliquid-listed contracts, potentially strengthening the platform’s role in connecting decentralized trading infrastructure with conventional finance. Ripple said the service is currently available through its CIV BVI license, with plans to expand into additional regions.

Similarly, EQX Labs revealed plans to introduce 11 tokenized US equity and exchange-traded fund markets on Hyperliquid’s HyperCore infrastructure. The initial selection includes stocks such as Apple, Nvidia, Amazon and Tesla, alongside ETFs tracking major US markets.

The tokens are designed to trade on Hyperliquid’s public order book, with EQX stating that each token is backed by shares held in custody.

HYPE is trading at $81.88, up 0.8% in the past 24 hours at the time of writing.

HYPE tests 50-day EMA resistance

On the daily chart, HYPE is consolidating with a slightly bearish tone as price sits above the 100-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $76.3 but below the 50-day EMA at $83.1 and the 20-day EMA at $85.4. This configuration suggests the recent pullback is capped by short-term averages while still supported by the longer-term trend, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 43 and Stochastic at 20 hinting at waning momentum but approaching oversold territory rather than a decisive breakdown.

On the topside, initial resistance emerges at the 50-day EMA, followed by a nearby horizontal barrier at $85, while a sustained recovery would target the 20-day EMA and then the more distant resistance level at $97.8. On the downside, immediate support is seen at the 100-day EMA at $76.3, reinforced by the horizontal floor at $75.7. A deeper slide would expose successive demand zones at $67.6, $61.1 and $51.5.
