Finish Jobless Rate Edges Up to 10% in June

Finland’s unemployment rate inched up to 10.0% in June 2026 from 9.9% in the same month a year earlier. The number of unemployed people increased by 3,000 year-on-year to 297,000, comprising 151,000 men and 146,000 women. By gender, male unemployment decreased to 10.0%, 0.2 percentage points lower than a year earlier, while the female rate increased to 10.1%, up 0.6 percentage points. Meanwhile, among younger workers aged 15–24, the jobless rate fell to 19.3%, down 2.9 percentage points from one year earlier. Meanwhile, employment declined by 15,000 to 2.658 million, while the labour force participation rate edged down to 70.9% from 71.2% a year earlier. On the other hand, the employment rate for those aged 20–64 declined to 76.5% from 77.2%.
