French Producer Prices Rebound in July

French domestic producer prices rose 1.1% month-on-month in July 2026, rebounding from a revised 0.4% decline in June. Prices of manufactured products increased 0.7%, following a 0.6% drop in the previous month, largely driven by a sharp rebound in prices of coke and refined petroleum products (+13.4% vs -12.0%) amid renewed geopolitical tensions and attacks on Russian refineries. Year-on-year, these prices have accelerated and remain very high (+50.5% vs +37.9%). Costs also increased for electrical and electronic equipment, computers, and machinery (+0.3% vs +0.3%), transport equipment (+0.4% vs 0%), and other manufactured products (+0.1% vs +0.2%), while food product prices fell 0.2% after rising 0.1%. Prices for mining and quarrying, energy, and water rose 2.9% after remaining unchanged in June. On an annual basis, domestic producer prices increased 3.4% in July, accelerating from a revised 2.8% rise in June, and marking the steepest gain since May 2023.
