DAX Hits Three-Week High on Strong Earnings

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 climbed above the 25,500 mark on Wednesday, recovering from early volatility to reach its highest level since July 6, as a strong batch of corporate earnings helped offset renewed geopolitical tensions. Sentiment remained cautious, however, after fresh Iranian attacks lifted oil and gas prices, while investors also awaited the Federal Reserve’s policy decision and earnings from major US technology companies. Among individual stocks, Rheinmetall surged nearly 7% after reporting sharp increases in revenue and operating profit, driven by strong defense demand. BASF gained 3.8% after announcing a new share buyback program, while Siemens Healthineers rose 3.5% as upbeat results from US peer GE Healthcare boosted the sector. Deutsche Bank advanced 3% after posting record second-quarter profits, and RWE added more than 2% after raising its outlook for 2026 and 2027 following a stronger-than-expected first half.
