FTSE 100 Climbs to 5-Month High

The FTSE 100 gained 0.4% on Monday, climbing above 10,780 to its highest level since the record close on February 27, supported by strong corporate earnings and easing energy costs. The US and Iran refrained from further attacks for a third consecutive night, reducing concerns over inflationary pressures. Vodafone was among the strongest performers, rising nearly 5% after reporting better-than-expected organic service revenue growth and maintaining a positive outlook. AstraZeneca advanced 1.7% after quarterly earnings exceeded expectations and the company reaffirmed its full-year guidance and 2030 targets. GSK gained more than 2%, while Unilever and BAE Systems also moved higher. In contrast, energy stocks declined as oil prices weakened, with Shell down 0.9% and BP falling 2.6%. Mining stocks also lagged, including Glencore (-3.4%), Anglo American (-2.4%) and Antofagasta (-1.9%).
