Week Ahead – Feb 2nd

The first week of February will follow unusual movements in global markets so far this year, recently marked by unprecedented volatility for metals and concerns of a dollar debasement while US President Trump nominated Kevin Warsh as the new Federal Reserve Chairman.

The BLS will release its key jobs report, while the JOLTS, ADP Report, and Challenger report add to insights on the labor market. Leading indicators in the US will also be featured with ISM PMIs and the UMich consumer confidence index. On the corporate front, Alphabet and Amazon will continue the earnings calls for Magnificent 7 companies, while AMD, Palantir, and Qualcomm will update investors’ view on speculative AI bets. Meanwhile, the European Central Bank, Bank of England, and Reserve Bank of Australia will set new policy rates, while the Eurozone will post its inflation print. In Asia, official and broader PMIs in China will take the spotlight.
