
The Baltic dry index increased 0.7% to 2,743 on Friday, its highest level since July 17. The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes, including iron ore and coal, rose 2.1% to 4,285, its highest level since July 16. On the other hand, the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell 2% to 2,024, its lowest level in nearly three months. Also, the supramax index decreased 0.5% to 1,694, its lowest since July 9. For the week, the Baltic index fell 0.3%.
